FC Barcelona Escola Philippines Conducts 2nd Camp in the Country
Signed special jersey by the FC Barcelona First Team Players just arrived;
Up for grabs via bidding fundraiser for the Yolanda Rebuilding Relief Project

MANILA, Philippines (December 18, 2013) – FC Barcelona Escola Camp returns to the
Philippines and opens today its second camp.

This will be a five-day football camp from December 18 until December 22, 2013 at the world-class turf of Emperador Stadium at McKinley Hill, Taguig City. Young footballers have another opportunity to train within the unique context provided by the philosophy, methodology and values that define FC Barcelona.

On this momentous occasion, just as with the first FC Barcelona Escola camp held last April,
FCBEscola coaches, Jose Moratalla and Isaac Guerrero, continues with the development of
FCBEscola’s program in the Philippines.

“Philippine football’s resurgence and growth has proven to be a milestone. We are pleased that
FC Barcelona’s philosophy, training, and methodology will be passed on to more children as well
as local coaches,” said Michael Reyes, Co-Head Organizer of the FCB Escola Camp Philippines
and Team Socceroo FC’s Operations Director. “This is a great opportunity to our children and the
youth.”

FCBEscola Philippines is the next big thing football fans and supporters of FC Barcelona in the
Philippines can wish for. This is their best way to experience first hand the Barca way of playing
football. While learning and having fun, the participants will inhibit the key success values and
principles like respect, teamwork, community spirit, solidarity and friendship which make FCB
Barcelona always the number one international football club on and off the pitch.

“Its wonderful to see that more children are learning FC Barcelona’s way to football which makes
for a great foundation,” said Nicholas Reyes, FCBE Camp Philippines Co-Head Organizer and
Team Socceroo FC’s Managing Director. “We are confident that this training camp will provide
the participants confidence, inspiration and the start of a solid football foundation for them to
reach greater heights.”

Coaches Josep Moratalla and Isaac Guerrero are conducting the training of the FCBE Camp
students who come from all over Metro Manila as well as Cebu, Negros Occidental, Davao, Iloilo,
Cagayan De Oro even children from Indonesia, Australia, and Scotland.

Josep Moratalla is an ex-first team player of FC Barcelona and has played with the likes of
Maradona, Schuster, Lineker, and other football legends. This is the second time that he was
assigned to teach the children of FC Barcelona Escola Camp Philippines.

Isaac Guerrero is the Head Coordinator Football School & Methodology Area Responsible for FCBEscola. He has directed many international FCBCamps including Brasil, Singapore, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey,
China, among others.

FCBEscola Camp Philippines is supported by the following sponsors and partners: Dusit Thani
Manila, Business Mirror, Lifeline Rescue, Mapfre Insular Insurance Corporation, Sports Brothers.
FCBE Philippines is organized by Team Socceroo FC, whose senior team has been promoted to
UFL Division 2014 after winning all games and emerging champion of the UFL League 2013.

Additionally, the organizers have been pushing for more scholars. Thanks to the support of Wool
Reyes Football Scholarship, Alaska Milk Corporation, British Council, and Philippine Football
Federation, and some “anonymous” donors. More football scholars are now able to join and learn
the Barca way.

FCB JERSEY FOR AUCTION to Help Yolanda Victims

FCBarcelona Escola Philippines invites bids for a special signed jersey from FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona fans are also encouraged to visit the FCBE booth at Dusit Thani Manila’s hotel
lobby where a special jersey is on display. This is a Lionel Messi signed jersey with a special
dedication for FC Barcelona Escola Philippines.

Another jersey just arrived and it is also special because it is a signed jersey by more players from the First Team of FC Barcelona. The players had international games at the time of signing but the following were able to sign: Xavi, Puyol, Dani Alves, Pique, Messi, Iniesta, Pedro, Adriano, Montoya and Tello. This jersey, a collector’s item and dream jersey, will be up for bidding for the Typhoon Haiyan “Yolanda” Rebuilding Relief Fundraiser starting on December 18 until December 30, 2013.

This is an open bidding and everyone is welcome to bid. To bid, visit www.fcbescolaphilippines.com

UFL Revert Back To Original Bracketing Format; Loyola vs Global match in QF looms.

From UFL Media Officer Jing Jamlang:

UFL Revert Back To Original Bracketing Format

The UFL will be reverting back to the orignal bracketing format of the knockout rounds that was revised prior to the start of the Round of 16, as decided by the Technical Committee last night. Although the Tech Comm admits the initial format is flawed, as the top seeds immediately face each other in the quarterfinals, it was agreed that changing the format midway through the competition would be an unhealthy precedent to set for future competitions. The committee accepts that it was an oversight in their part not to have altered the format before the start of the competition, and has vowed to be more diligent in ensuring similar problems will no longer arise in the future.

*The Tech Comm is composed of:
a)     One (1) representative from each club;
b)     Two (2) representatives from the FA;
c)     One (1) representative from the NCRFA or PFF; and
d)     The Tournament Director who shall be a co-opted member (no voting power).
